Stephen Gibson

Stephen was born in Washington, DC and has lived in Boston, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle where he received an MFA in creative writing from the University of Washington. His poems have been published in magazines like Ploughshares, the Boston Review, and Poetry Northwest and he is also the author of two poetry chapbooks, Industrial View Facing South and The Waiting. A full length collection, City of Midnight Skies, was published by Horse & Buggy Press (NC). For many years he worked in Washington, DC as a bicycle messenger and during that time cofounded the magazine Mobile City that has since been featured on NPR’s “Morning Edition” as well as mentioned in USA Today, Spokes, and the Washington City Paper. He also served as poetry editor for the Assouline Press photography book Messengers Style.
